I had decided, today, that I would venture out in the world for groccery shopping and defuzzing my car. As it was a particularly nice day, I knew the roadways would be packed and that I would have to settle for calling H. Wanca, the Real Estate Agent attempting to sell the building in which I live.

after returning home to find the garbage still heaping and even overflowing from the dumpster I decided to do a Google search for her office number. Instead, I found her e-mail address and wrote to her so that not only would I be contacting her regarding the issues at hand-but I would have written documentation of this exchange of information.

So I wrote her a letter explaining the situation of the halted garbage removal, the disconnected natural gas and safety issues I had addressed in a letter to the Landlord that had subsequently been returned unopened. To this she replied that she would forward the information to the Landlord, but that she in turn was not a Property Manager. To this, I desperately wanted to slap her for her insolence. Of course she isn't a Property Manager, but she is the only one he apparently answers his phone for. So to me, it made perfect sense to contact her.

Fast forward several hours later and it is revealed to me through a fellow apartment dweller as well as co-worker, that our natural gas has been reconnected.

I know that this will not be the first of the battls I face with them-but legally there is nothing that he can do if he doesn't pay his bills but take the proper channels and forge on.

For the past 2 years my boyfriend and I have participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge held in Wausau Wisconsin at the end of February. Our first year the weather was nice so the water wasn't terribly cold-this year it was absolutely freezing, but it was all for a great cause!

A letter from the City Gas Company was left in our apartment building, over the weekend, that our Landlord, J. Nichols of Lodi WI-had not paid the gas bill and that it would be shut off at 130pm on July 7, 2011. Now, this is the third notice that has been placed in our building regarding the natural gas since April of this year, however, this is the first time it has actually been shut off.

While at work tonight, my room mate came home to find that we didn't have any hot water-indicating that our gas had been shut off. Unlike the electric company, the gas company will shut off service regardless of the presence of elderly or children. Therefore i I can confidently say that Apartment #4 is absolutely livid about the whole ordeal-not only do they have a 2 year old-but a 4 week old child as well. They were already struggling with getting the Landlord to answer his phone or call them back regarding the water leakage over the toilet in their bathroom-to which they with held rent-and now they have to go without hot water, and as mentioned in my last post-garbage removal.

By now, I would venture a guess that most of you would be fuming and ready to tear this man to pieces and I can tell you that I am noteably upset-but I have to be the responsible adult and go about this in a legal way to come out the victor in the end.

As for coping with this most unfortunate of circumstances... I sent the room mate to her parents to shower and I just grinned and took myself a cold shower-somehow... the Polar Plunge doesn't seem so cold any more.
It is Thursday, July 7th and at 1:30pm today-our natural gas service is slated to be disconnected because our Landlord has not paid the bill. Additionally he has not paid the bill for the gargabe removal services either.
As I had stated in an earlier post, our Landlord-J. Nichols of Lodi, WI-has trouble paying his bills. He also has trouble maintaining our building and is currently in the process of attempting to sell this building with the help of Helen Wanca.
The thing, our Landlord seems to not realize is that if any main utility gets shut off, our building may deemed 'uninhabitable' and he then will not be able to sell. Additionally, once it becomes uninhabitable everyone has to move out, some can afford to-but others can not.
It is a sad situation all around, for everyone involved.

Everyone has had an undesirable neighbor at some point in time, but how does one deal with 6 undesireable neighbors in an 11 unit complex?

As a fan of banging on walls, leaving letters detailing infarctions of neighborly behavior, blocking people in who do not live here, calling the police and the evil stare-I really have to wonder how far some people are willing to go to get their point across to their 'asshole' neighbors without becoming an 'asshole' themselves.

I was raised to be kind and courteous to my fellow neighbors. Never let the music get too loud, park only in your designated area and make guests park on the street, never enter another person's storage area, keep all common areas neat and clean, report any hazards to the Landlord and be respectful of other people's personal space.

Recently the occupant of Apartment #3, a friend of my room mate and mine, moved to Appleton. Her presence is sorely missed, especially in the past 2 weeks. Our new neighbors are 3 men who work at the El Tequila restaraunt behind our building and they occupy a 1 bedroom apartment. Over the past 5 days they have been blasting their Enrique Inglesies music with bass cranked up around mid day and midnight. I let the first infraction fly, as it was a hot day-all windows were open and they were likely moving items in to their home. After the second day, my boyfriend kindly pounded on the wall to make a point that their music/bass was too loud. I have had to bang on the wall several more times and last night around 1am I had to call the police. Unfortunately they turned their music down just before the police arrived, but there were 3 police cars surrounding my apartment building in anticipation of some possible underage drinking arrests. I can attest to it being a very small apartment and there was no reason the officer needed to knock 3 times before they answered the door.

My message to Apartment #3, disconnect your bass before I disconnect your car's battery.

I received the keys to my apartment last year, on the last day of July, so my room mate and I have been occupying this space for nearly a year. In that time our garbage removal service has been halted three times, our gas service has been in danger of being halted three times, our electric service to common areas has been in danger of being halted once and our mailman has asked several of us to call our Landlord to complain about the snow piled up on our sidewalks.

I foolishly believed that after the death of the woman in Apartment 5 that things would improve, because a 'maintenance' man had moved in with his wife. Sadly though he proved to be incapable of doing anything more than smoking his cigarettes in the common areas and dragging in snow and dirt all over the place.

Please note, that my room mate and I have done the majority of repairs and restoration projects in our apartment-but we have also had help from my father, my boyfriend and a friend from work. I save the receipts of anything we need and deduct it from the rent, especially after we installed new tiles in the bathroom after ripping out the carpet that was piss stained and full of cigarette burns.

There was once when the snow fall from the night before hadn't been cleared from the parking lot and we found some shovels and did our absolute best to clear a path for our vehicles, and no one else's, and it took us over an hour to clear a small path before the 'maintenance' guy could finally be reached to come out and snowblow the rest of the driveway.
